The target announced on the 5th that it has won the main award at the '2025 Red Dot Design Award' for two consecutive years.
The Red Dot Design Award is considered one of the top three design awards in the world, along with the 'iF Design Award' and the 'International Design Excellence Award (IDEA)'. It selects award-winning works annually in three institutional sectors: product design, brand & communication design, and design concept.
The target won in the brand & communication design institutional sector for its offline kimchi pop-up event 'Kimchi Blast Tokyo 2025' and the low-sugar, low-calorie emblem 'Low Tag' campaign.
'Kimchi Blast Tokyo 2025' was held in Shibuya, Tokyo, in April. The target explained that the event received high scores for combining the similar yet distinct cultures of Korea and Japan themed around kimchi and for building various pop-up stories.
'Low Tag' was designed with attention to the latest consumer trend of carefully checking product nutritional ingredients, where removing the tag reveals nutritional information. This emphasis on enhancing brand differentiation beyond simple nutritional labeling was the reason for the award.
Lee Jeong-hoon, the brand group head at Target Inc., said, "It is a great honor to receive the main award for two consecutive years, and we will continue to communicate more closely with consumers through various campaigns that can effectively convey the unique identity and differentiated value of our brand."
