Goodai Global announced on 4th that it has appointed Jeon Hang-il, former CEO of Gmarket, as the new representative of its subsidiary Craver Corporation.
The former CEO has held positions as CEO of eBay Japan, eBay Korea, and Gmarket. In particular, during his tenure as CEO of eBay Japan, he is credited with establishing K-beauty in the Japanese market, leading to a fourfold growth in the Japanese business over three years. He is expected to lead Craver's platform enhancement (the Uma division) and the expansion of its global network (the SKIN1004 division) going forward.
Craver, which operates the beauty brand Skin Angel and the online beauty B2B platform Uma, was integrated into Goodai Global last year. Skin Angel rose to prominence in the U.S. Amazon sun care category with its 'Madagascar Centella' line. It has expanded to over 150 countries, generating more than 280 billion won in sales last year.
Uma is an online beauty B2B platform supplying over 180 domestic cosmetics brands to global buyers, providing fast delivery services based on local logistics hubs and supporting the overseas expansion of K-beauty brands.
The company stated that this appointment is a strategic decision aimed at strengthening the competitiveness of the global beauty distribution platform and accelerating the expansion of the K-beauty ecosystem.
The new representative noted, 'I will strategically operate Uma, the key distribution platform connecting the global success of K-beauty, and Skin Angel, which leads the global growth of K-beauty, to enhance platform competitiveness and accelerate global network expansion.'
