Lotte Group's convenience store Seven Eleven announced on the 3rd that it will conduct large-scale discount events focused on chicken and beer throughout August to reflect high prices and vacation demand.
Seven Eleven plans to launch the 'Exceeding Limit Old-Fashioned Fried Chicken' on the 7th. This product features domestically sourced chicken with a thin batter, making it crispy without being greasy. The weight has been increased by 30 grams compared to existing convenience store chicken products, and the price has been lowered by 5-10%.
The Exceeding Limit Old-Fashioned Fried Chicken will be sold at a discounted price of 9,900 won instead of the original price of 11,900 won until the 15th to celebrate its launch. If ordered through the 'Same-Day Pickup' menu on the Seven Eleven app by the end of this month, customers can receive a 4,000 won discount or a 20% discount when paying with Kakao Pay, allowing them to enjoy a chicken for as low as 5,900 won.
A 'Summer Macation' event will also be held to target the beer peak season. Customers can purchase a pack of four 500ml canned beers, both domestic and imported, at a discounted price. '1,000 won beer' is also available at about 8,000 won for 10 cans. Non-alcoholic beers will be available with a 1+1 (one plus one) promotion on all items.
Park Dae-sung, head of the instant food team at Seven Eleven, noted, "We prepared cost-effective products and promotions focused on chicken and beer, which are in high demand during the summer vacation season, to help customers who are exhausted from prolonged high prices enjoy a pleasant summer vacation without burden. As a platform closely tied to daily life, we will continue to work toward stabilizing the prices of essential goods."
