LOTTE HIMART announced on the 28th that its operating profit for the second quarter of this year increased by 277% year-on-year to 10.5 billion won.
During the same period, revenue grew by 0.8% to 594.2 billion won. This marked the continuation of a revenue growth trend for two consecutive quarters after the first quarter.
For the first half of the year, the operating loss was recorded at 600 million won, which reduced the loss by 1.27 billion won compared to a loss of 1.33 billion won in the same period last year. Excluding one-time factors such as value-added tax refunds, substantial improvement effects were also observed.
LOTTE HIMART introduced a care service to strengthen its contact with consumers. The revenue from the Hi-Mart care service in the first half of this year grew by 78% compared to the same period last year. Since its launch in June, the consultation service, which was first introduced for home visits, has been utilized by over 1,000 customers.
Stores are also changing. LOTTE HIMART is expanding experience stores that enhance professional content to maximize customer experience. The mobile specialty store "MOTOPIA," which opened in Gangdong-gu, Seoul in April and in Sangnam, Changwon in May, recorded mobile sales that were more than 8 times higher than the previous stores after its opening.
Sales of LOTTE HIMART's private brand (PB) overall also increased by 12% compared to the same period last year. Of the 30 new products in the PB Flux, 15 have ranked first in sales within their category. The company plans to continue launching new products in the second half of this year.
LOTTE HIMART has set a goal of 2.3 trillion won in revenue and 100 billion won in operating profit for this year.
