Dongwon Group announced on the 27th that it successfully held the '2025 Dongwon AI Challenge,' an internal competition utilizing 'Dongwon GPT.'
According to Dongwon Group, the competition took place the previous day at the Dongwon Industries Building in Seocho-gu, Seoul. It aimed to enhance employees' utilization skills of Dongwon GPT, to foster creative talent suited for the era of artificial intelligence (AI), and to establish a data-driven organizational culture.
Having been held for the second time following last year, this competition increased the prize money and gifts to a total of 30 million won. The number of participants also more than doubled compared to the previous year, with over 350 employees from 10 affiliates, including Dongwon Industries, Dongwon F&B, Dongwon Systems, Dongwon Home Food, and Dongwon Loex, participating.
The event consisted of various problem-solving and sharing of best practices that can practically enhance capabilities in utilizing GPT prompts. Various types of problems were presented, including short-answer questions utilizing Dongwon GPT, prompt construction for solving repetitive tasks, and generating ideas and insights. Tasks closely related to practical work, such as repairing healthy diets using Dongwon products, managing inventory turnover rates, and discovering excellent trading partners, were also addressed.
This competition began with a proposal from Chairman Kim Nam-jeong of Dongwon Group. Having emphasized that the utilization of AI is key to enhancing corporate competitiveness and employees' capabilities, Chairman Kim is actively promoting AI-centered management. Accordingly, Dongwon Group introduced its own AI platform, Dongwon GPT, in February of last year and launched the '2024 Dongwon GPT Competition' to enhance AI utilization capabilities across the company. In September, a national AI competition will also be held for the general public to cultivate AI talent.
Chairman Kim said, 'I hope employees embrace AI as a necessary tool in the business field and create added value,' adding, 'We will spare no effort in supporting the introduction of a Citizen Data Scientist training course to foster AI-based creative talent.'
