Emart and Lotte Mart have posted notices indicating that the 'livelihood recovery consumption coupons (hereinafter referred to as consumption coupons)' can be used at rental stores located within their stores. Although large supermarkets were excluded from the government's designated usage locations for consumption coupons, the aim is to support business activities so that rental stores are not neglected as a consumption venue.
According to Emart on the 27th, among the 2,600 rental stores located in 156 Emart and Traders locations nationwide, over 960 stores accept consumption coupons. This accounts for 37% of all rental stores.
Major usage locations include hair salons, optical shops, pharmacies, car wash stations, kids' cafes, and photo studios operated by small businesses among the rental stores located within Emart. For example, at the Emart Wolgye store, consumption coupons can be used at a total of 20 rental stores including ▲restaurants ▲cafes ▲hair salons ▲optical shops ▲pharmacies ▲kids' cafes ▲shoe and key shops ▲car wash stations ▲dentists ▲pediatricians ▲traditional medicine clinics. At the Emart Seosuwon store, consumption coupons are accepted at 15 places, including ▲hair salons ▲optical shops ▲auto repair shops ▲kids' cafes ▲photo studios ▲clinics ▲dentists ▲pharmacies, and at the Traders Yeonsan store, 8 rental stores including ▲restaurants ▲cafes ▲hair salons ▲pharmacies ▲car wash stations ▲vehicle maintenance shops also accept consumption coupons.
To enhance customer convenience, Emart plans to place notices in various locations throughout the stores indicating which rental stores accept consumption coupons, making it easier for customers to find them. Notices containing the phrase that rental stores are consumption coupon usage locations will also be displayed in rental stores.
An official from Emart said, "We determined that it was necessary to stimulate the sales of small businesses operating rental stores within Emart," and noted, "We will support this in various ways, including informing customers that consumption coupons can be used at rental stores."
On the same day, Lotte Mart announced that consumption coupons can be used at over 900 stores, about 30% of the 3,000 rental stores located in 112 Lotte Mart stores nationwide. While consumption coupon usage is restricted at Lotte Mart's directly operated stores, it is possible to use consumption coupons at some rental stores. For example, at the Lotte Mart Junggye store, consumption coupons can be used at 19 rental stores, including ▲restaurants ▲hair salons ▲cafes ▲optical shops ▲laundromats ▲steam car wash stations ▲hospitals ▲pharmacies.
Lotte Mart has also placed notices in key locations within the stores to inform customers about which rental stores accept consumption coupons, so that consumers do not experience confusion. Additionally, they are providing support through on-site staff to help customers easily identify the stores where consumption coupons can be used.
An official from Lotte Mart said, "We hope that by providing clear information about consumption coupon usage locations, we can enhance the shopping convenience for customers and also provide substantial assistance to our partner businesses for stable operational activities," and noted, "We will continue to faithfully perform our role in the distribution field and review various support measures in line with government policies moving forward."
