Asung Daiso, which operates the household goods retail chain Daiso, donated 200 million won for recovery efforts in areas affected by nationwide heavy rainfall.
According to the Korean Red Cross on the 24th, Daiso's donation will be used for recovery in the flood-damaged areas and support for the victims. Asung Daiso also donated 1 billion won in March for recovery efforts following wildfires in the Gyeongsang and Ulsan regions.
An official from Asung Daiso said, "I extend my deepest condolences to those who are suffering due to unprecedented heavy rainfall," and added, "I hope the affected areas recover quickly and everyone returns to their daily lives."
Kim Cheol-soo, president of the Korean Red Cross, stated, "I deeply appreciate Asung Daiso for providing valuable support at a crucial time for the victims who lost their homes due to the heavy rainfall," and noted, "The donation will be used transparently and effectively for the swift recovery of the affected areas and support for the victims."
