ORION announced on the 22nd that it has simultaneously launched 'TURTLE CHIPS season chicken flavor' in South Korea and the United States. This is the first time ORION has introduced a new product in both countries at the same time.
The Turtle Chips season chicken flavor is a product that captures the taste of seasoned chicken, a soul food for Koreans, in the 'Turtle Chips' that are gaining popularity in the United States. ORION planned this product, inspired by the fact that seasoned chicken has become a food enjoyed by foreigners amid the Korean wave and K-food trend.
Turtle Chips are currently available in over 2,000 stores in the United States, including Costco, Five Below, and MINISO. They are also being sold in over 20 countries worldwide, including Europe, Australia, Canada, and China. Since its launch in 2017, cumulative global sales of Turtle Chips have reached approximately 500 billion won.
In particular, the Turtle Chips season chicken flavor differentiated the flavors of the products for export to the United States and for domestic use, reflecting the preferences of consumers in each country. The export product emphasizes a salty yet tangy flavor tailored to American tastes through local consumer testing. It features a strong seasoned chicken taste. The domestic product, released as a limited edition, incorporates sweetness into the spicy seasoning sauce, achieving the ideal of 'sweet and salty' preferred by Koreans.
In Korea, in addition to the Turtle Chips season chicken flavor, a limited edition of two types will be introduced, adding a 'fried chicken flavor.' It features a crispy texture reminiscent of eating chicken and a savory yet salty taste.
An ORION official noted, 'Amid the K-food trend, a Korean flavor is being recognized as a global taste, and we are excited to introduce the product in the United States, the home of snacks. Starting in the United States, we plan to expand the sales of Turtle Chips season chicken flavor into Canada and other countries, establishing a 'Turtle Chips snack road.'
