Shinsegae Group announced on the 21st that it will support 500 million won in donations to ensure a rapid recovery in the areas affected by sudden heavy rainfall. The donation will be given to the 'Hope Bridge National Disaster Relief Association' and will be used for recovery efforts in flood-affected areas and support for disaster victims.
The company will also provide relief supplies. Emergency support will be carried out from nearby stores to the severely affected regions of Sangcheon and Hapcheon in South Gyeongsang Province. Emart's Jinju store plans to deliver food items such as water, instant noodles, and Choco Pie along with daily necessities to Sangcheon and Hapcheon.
Earlier, Emart delivered emergency relief kits for 500 households to residents affected by flooding in the Chungnam region on the 19th. The emergency relief kits were primarily composed of daily necessities needed by disaster victims, such as towels, toothbrushes, undergarments, and sportswear. Emart has prepared emergency relief kits for disaster support, including flood and fire assistance, through the Korean Red Cross.
Shinsegae Group stated, "As a distribution corporation that meets many customers daily, we empathize with the pain of those affected by this flood disaster," and added, "We swiftly decided to help so that customers can return to their daily lives as soon as possible."
