On the 21st, LOTTE announced that it would donate 1 billion won to quickly restore affected areas and support disaster victims due to the record-breaking heavy rain.
The donations will be made to the National Disaster Relief Association through the Community Chest of Korea, and will be used for recovery activities in affected areas and for providing relief supplies to disaster victims.
The LOTTE retail division will also deliver emergency relief supplies for 2,000 people, consisting of beverages, instant noodles, and energy bars, to disaster shelters in Sancheong County, Gyeongsangnam-do, and Yesan County, Chungcheongnam-do, through the National Disaster Relief Association. LOTTE Wellfood plans to support 300 million won worth of food supplies through the Korean Red Cross.
Earlier this year, the LOTTE Group provided 1 billion won in donations to victims of wildfires that occurred in Gyeongbuk, Gyeongnam, and Ulsan, and subsidiaries such as LOTTE Retail Division and LOTTE Wellfood cooperated to deliver emergency relief supplies made up of necessities like bottled water and instant noodles.
A LOTTE official said, "We extend our heartfelt condolences to the disaster victims affected by the heavy rainfall and will actively support quick recovery efforts so they can return to their daily lives as soon as possible."
