CU announced on the 14th that it will exclusively import and release a limited total of 160,000 units of the famous Japanese convenience store dessert, "Hokkaido soufflé pudding (cheese, chocolate)," starting from the 16th.
Hokkaido soufflé pudding is a two-layer dessert that combines a light and fluffy soufflé cake, reminiscent of castella, with smooth pudding, featuring complex flavors and textures.
Additionally, CU also introduced the "Berry Brick Cake" from the confectionery department earlier this month. It is a reimagined product of the Turkish chocolate cake that has recently gained significant attention on social media among customers in their 10s and 20s. The cross-section of the cake resembles a stacked brick, and the product was conceived in response to the trend of taking certification photos with it split in half.
Furthermore, CU has launched the "Custard Cream Brûlée," inspired by the French gourmet dessert crème brûlée. A thin layer of white chocolate is spread over the custard cream, topped with sugar that is melted with fire, resulting in a coating that resembles dalgona.
Last year, CU was also the first among domestic distributors to showcase the "Dubai chocolate," which had caused a stir on social media by overseas influencers. The product generated sales of 20 billion won within six months of its release.
