The local living community carrot announced on the 30th that its own easy payment service, carrot Pay, will begin providing on-site payment services at convenience stores, supermarkets, cafes, and other offline locations.
After updating the application (app) to the latest version, payments made with a QR code will proceed with carrot money or carrot points held. If the balance is insufficient, carrot money will be automatically charged through the linked financial account.
The company explained that the scope of carrot Pay is expanding to include not only secondhand transactions and remittances within the carrot app but also offline small payments, thereby enhancing its role as a payment method in local life.
Previously, carrot Pay introduced card payment functionality in the secure payment service in some areas of Seoul, including Gangnam. Additionally, in March, it implemented a secure compensation system to reimburse users in case of fraud during secure payment transactions.
A company official noted, "We will expand the usage sites through partnerships with more offline stores in the future and take a step further as a hyper-local financial service."
