GS Retail's convenience store GS25 announced on the 8th that it will launch a large-scale promotion for healthy food through its 'Neighborhood Gym Store (convenience store + gym)' campaign. With rising interest in weight management and exercise during the summer, the initiative aims to allow consumers to purchase healthy products more enjoyably and affordably at convenience stores.
According to GS25, an analysis of first-quarter sales data revealed that protein drinks increased by 20.4%, protein bars by 24.8%, zero-calorie drinks by 24.5%, and salads by 13.1%, all seeing double-digit increases compared to the same period last year. This suggests that growing interest in health has led consumers to closely scrutinize protein content, sugar, calories, and other factors in their purchases.
The campaign that GS25 has launched will run from June to August this summer. It will offer discounts of up to 50% on more than 200 products that contain health elements such as protein, low sugar, low calories, and energy.
In particular, during this month, popular products will include ▲more than 30 types of chicken breast with 1+1, 2+1 offers, ▲more than 30 types of protein drinks with 1+1, 2+1 offers and price discounts, ▲more than 30 types of energy drinks with 1+1, 2+1 offers and price discounts. Additionally, paying with Toss Pay will offer a 50% payback benefit on all Lab Nosh products.
From the 16th to July 31, a prize event will also be held through the company's app 'Neighborhood GS'. Customers who purchase key products of the campaign will be able to enter a stamp lottery. Through a drawing, they can win health-related products such as an Apple Watch, a blender, a stepper, and a doorframe pull-up bar.
GS25 is continuously expanding its range of protein products, such as cookies, donuts, ice cream, and drinks, along with health-related items that are low in sugar and calories, in collaboration with Lab Nosh. With this product expansion and campaign, the strategy is to evolve from merely a distribution channel to a brand that helps customers establish healthy routines in their daily lives.
Choi Seung-hoon, manager of the brand marketing team at GS Retail, noted, 'We set up the summer health campaign to ensure everyone can enjoy the great benefits of GS25.' He added, 'In the future, we will continue to introduce various products and services that help customers make healthy choices.'
