The French luxury corporation Chanel (CHANEL) has stealthily increased the prices of some products in Korea.
According to the luxury goods industry on the 2nd, Chanel Korea has uniformly adjusted prices for its popular products, including the 22 Bag, Classic Bag, and Boy Bag. This is the third price increase following a rise in prices for popular lines such as the Coco Handle Bag in January and the High Jewelry line in February.
The small size of the 22 Bag, famous for being used by BLACKPINK member Jennie, has increased from 8.22 million won to 8.89 million won, a rise of 8.1%. The Classic Large Flap Bag has been raised by about 7%, from 16.79 million won to 17.95 million won, while the Small Flap Bag has increased from 14.97 million won to 16.01 million won, a rise of 4.6%. The Boy Chanel Flap Bag has seen a 7% price increase across sizes, with the medium size now priced at 10.21 million won, up from 10.91 million won.
Chanel has carried out stealthy increases 2 to 3 times a year based on corporate policies, including inflation rates, raw material cost increases, and currency fluctuations. In particular, price increases in the luxury jewelry sector are continuing in the spring, when demand for wedding gifts typically rises. Earlier, Louis Vuitton also raised prices on some bags in April after increasing prices twice in January.
