The UNESCO World Heritage City of Gochang County, North Jeolla Province, has been selected for the 13th consecutive year in the "institutional sector" category of the 'Korean's Most Beloved Brand Award.'
Gochang County supports settlement funds for returning farmers to stabilize their resettlement. Additionally, for those experiencing financial difficulties due to insufficient income in the early stages of returning to farming, the county provides additional support for startup and dwelling purchase loan interest at 1% for three years.
Gochang County has been operating a resident-type agricultural creation support center for prospective returning farmers for the eighth year. Each year, 30 households can reside in the center from March to November, receiving systematic agricultural technology training and hands-on practice.
Gochang County Mayor Sim Deok-seop noted, "This is a valuable achievement created together by Gochang residents and returning farmers for a sustainable rural community where people and nature coexist." He added, "We will continue to spare no effort in policy support to create a warm rural area centered on people, making Gochang a place where everyone wants to stay."
