GS Retail, which operates convenience store GS25, announced on the 22nd that it has entered into a strategic partnership with Japan's largest variety store Don Quijote to export GS25 private brand (PB) products.
According to the agreement, more than 10 types of YOUUS and collaboration products will be exported starting mid-month and sold in approximately 400 Don Quijote stores in Japan.
GS Retail aims to further strengthen its global partnership with Don Quijote and enhance the overseas awareness of the GS25 brand. GS Retail expanded its export items from about 40 in 2017 to over 600. The number of export countries has also increased to over 30, including Europe, North America, the Middle East, and Asia.
The export volume surpassed $9 million (approximately 12.4 billion won) last year, and it is expected to reach $13 million (approximately 17.9 billion won) this year.
Park Ji-hwan, Head of Team for exports and imports at GS Retail, noted, "As GS25's PB and differentiated products enter Japan's Don Quijote, they have proven their product competitiveness and brand value in the global market," and added, "We will create real synergies by carrying out various projects with Don Quijote."
