The 'Borsa Vini,' a representative event of Italian wine, will be held on May 21-22 at 'High Street Italia' in Garosu-gil, Seoul.
According to the Italian Trade Agency (ITA) on the 24th, this event is organized by the Italian Trade Agency, with the cooperation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Italian Embassy in Korea. 'Borsa Vini 2025' is the third event held this year and is planned as part of a long-term strategy to expand the export of Italian wine in the Korean market and enhance the national brand image.
This year, a total of 41 Italian wine-related businesses will participate. They are expected to showcase a variety of high-quality wines from across Italy, representing over 70 wine brands. Many of the participating wineries offer brands that have not yet been imported to Korea, providing a great opportunity for Korean importers to add new Italian wines to their portfolios.
On the first day, a 1:1 business meeting will be held for Korean wine importers in the morning, followed by a networking event in the afternoon called the Grand Tasting for industry stakeholders, including restaurants, distributors, and wine experts. A masterclass by sommelier Kwon Jae-yeon is also expected to take place. On the second day, business meetings will continue, further expanding opportunities for practical exchanges among Korean wine industry stakeholders.
Wine imports from Italy have nearly tripled, increasing from $27.8 million in 2013 to $67.8 million in 2023. These figures reflect changes in consumer trends within the Korean wine market. Borsa Vini 2025 is expected to establish itself as an important platform to effectively showcase the quality and diversity of Italian wines to Korean consumers and industry professionals.
