The uniform-price household goods store Asung Daiso recorded nearly 4 trillion won in sales last year, generating an operating profit of around 370 billion won.
According to Asung Daiso's audit report on the 14th, sales and operating profit last year were 3.9689 trillion won and 371.2 billion won, respectively, an increase of 14.7% and 41.8% compared to the previous year.

Annual sales showed an upward trend, increasing from 2.6 trillion won in 2021 to 2.9 trillion won in 2022, 3.4604 trillion won in 2023, and 3.9689 trillion won last year.
Operating profit exceeded 300 billion won last year, compared to 283.8 billion won in 2021, 239.3 billion won in 2022, and 261.7 billion won in 2023.
Daiso noted, "Last year's sales increased due to rising demand for cost-effective products amid high inflation, and the popularity of strategic items such as seasonal and series products contributed to this growth," adding that "operating profit increased due to sales growth and a reduction in cost of sales through economies of scale."
Daiso is expanding its product range to include cosmetics and clothing items in addition to household goods, and convenience store operators are pursuing similar strategies.
