On the 14th, CU announced that it will implement the 'CU Next Day Guaranteed Delivery' service, which allows for delivery within the same area within one day, making it the first in the industry. This service delivers items received before 6 p.m. every day, excluding Saturdays, to the location designated by the customer the following day.
Given that general convenience store delivery typically takes 2 to 3 days, this is described as a fast service. This is the first time such a delivery method has been introduced in the convenience store industry. Delivery will be handled by DILLI.
CU Next Day Guaranteed Delivery has fare rates that are up to 37% lower compared to general delivery. The service fare is 3,200 won for packages under 500g, 3,900 won for 500g to under 1kg, 4,700 won for 1 to under 3kg, and 5,400 won for 3 to under 5kg. CU will also conduct a 300 won uniform discount promotion for all sizes of CU Next Day Guaranteed Delivery until the end of May. With the discount applied, a small delivery under 500g can be registered for next-day delivery at the industry’s lowest price of 2,900 won.
CU plans to start the Next Day Guaranteed Delivery service this month in the Seoul area, and will gradually expand it to major cities by monitoring customer demand and other factors.
Yun Jeong-wook, CEO of BGF Networks, noted, "In the future, CU will expand its role as the closest delivery service in daily life through various and differentiated services, thereby enhancing its role as a lifestyle platform."
