The 'Amaroomeongyu (夢遊)' white wine produced by Achimmaru Winery won the grand award in the Korean wine category at the 2025 Korea Wine & Spirits Awards.
The Korea Wine & Spirits Awards is the leading liquor competition in South Korea, which is celebrating its 12th year this year. The event, hosted by ChosunBiz since 2014, aims to discover good domestic liquor and promote it widely, while supporting the establishment of a healthy drinking culture.
This year, 236 companies submitted a total of 1,008 brands. It is the largest liquor competition in South Korea covering comprehensive spirits. Of these, 431 brands received the grand award.
According to Achimmaru Winery, Amaroomeongyu wine features rich fruit aromas and nuances of wildflowers, characterized by smooth acidity and a light, clean finish. The wine, blended from apricot, peach, and plum, is noted for its rich fruit aromas, smooth acidity, and light, refreshing quality. It has been praised for its harmonious balance of acidity and sweetness, pairing well with traditional Korean dishes.
Achimmaru Winery states that it has improved the production methods of European wines to harmoniously fit the regional environment and food culture of Korea, maintaining stable quality. Achimmaru Winery noted, "We aged the wine in stainless steel tanks to maintain the balance of flavor and aroma," adding that it is developing new products using local agricultural products to benefit the local economy while enhancing its value as a regional specialty wine.
