The Korea Wine & Spirits Awards is the representative liquor competition in South Korea, now in its 12th year. ChosunBiz has been holding the event annually since 2014 with the goal of 'discovering and widely promoting good domestic alcohol, and supporting the formation of a healthy liquor culture.'
This year's event saw 236 companies submit a total of 1,008 brands, making it the largest domestic competition dealing with comprehensive liquors. Of these, 431 brands received the Daesang.
According to Yangju-gol Iga Traditional Liquor, Iga Jutak is a premium Korean rice wine with a strong dry flavor, utilizing the method of secondary fermentation in the production of rice wine. They noted that it is brewed in the traditional manner, made during the blossom time of pear flowers. It is characterized by long-term aging and fermentation in jars, resulting in a smooth finish.
Yangju-gol Iga Traditional Liquor stated, 'As a local specialty liquor, we have the confidence that our traditional liquor can stand shoulder to shoulder with wine and famous foreign liquors, and we will strive to enter the global market.'
