The low-cost coffee franchise MegaMGC Coffee will raise the prices of major coffee items, including Americano.
MegaMGC Coffee announced on the 31st that it will adjust the prices of some menu items, including Americano, starting from the 21st of next month. This is the first price adjustment for MegaMGC Coffee in 10 years since the brand was launched.
The price of a hot Americano will increase by 200 won to range from 1,500 won to 1,700 won. However, the price of iced Americano will remain unchanged.
In addition, Halmega Coffee and Halmega Misut Coffee have been adjusted by 200 won each, from 1,900 won and 2,700 won to 2,100 won and 2,900 won.
The prices of the large-size menu items Mega Americano and King Halmega Coffee have increased by 300 won each, from 3,000 won and 2,900 won to 3,300 won and 3,200 won. The cost of adding an espresso shot has also risen by 100 won to 600 won per shot.
MegaMGC Coffee noted, "Over the past year, the import raw bean prices that affect coffee bean prices have nearly doubled, and the soaring exchange rate has increased cost pressures," and added, "The opinions of franchisees have been consistently collected and reflected in the decision-making process."
MegaMGC Coffee added, "With this price adjustment, the headquarters will only cover part of the increased costs."
