Shinsegae Group's unified online shopping platform SSG.com announced on the 26th that it will enhance delivery competitiveness by introducing the arrival guarantee service "Star Delivery."
The "Star Delivery," officially launching on the 27th, aims for a 100% on-time delivery based on the promised date and is carried out through CJ Logistics' O-NE service. If the product is not received on the scheduled delivery date, a compensation of 1,000 won will be automatically credited to the SSG money.
SSG.com’s Star Delivery will be operated primarily around lifestyle product categories such as cosmetics, pet supplies, and living goods. It will complement the services of "Ssg Weekly Delivery" and "Ssg Early Morning Delivery," which focus on grocery items, including fresh food.
The existing next-day delivery service "Ssg 1DAY Delivery" will transition to "Star Delivery." Orders placed by 11 p.m. can be received the next day, except in some remote areas, and free combined shipping is available for purchases over 20,000 won.
In the second half of the year, the service will be extended to products from partnered suppliers. There are plans to apply the service to over 300,000 products (SKUs) by the end of next year.
SSG.com has created a dedicated section for easily shopping Star Delivery items. It is accessible directly from the mobile app and the main web page, and customers can view only the applicable items by clicking "Star Delivery" in the filter after searching for products. SSG.com aims to accelerate joint growth with brands by increasing the exposure of Star Delivery products.
From the 27th to the 2nd of the next month, SSG.com will hold a "Star Deal," featuring 30 exclusive Star Delivery products at special prices daily for a week.
Han Myeong-sik, PO leader of SSG.com’s Star Delivery, said, “With Star Delivery, customers can receive a variety of lifestyle products with guaranteed arrival.” He noted that in collaboration with CJ Logistics, there are plans to pilot a seven-day delivery service in some regions, and a national expansion is also under consideration.
