Recently, the distribution industry has begun to support areas such as Sancheong County in South Gyeongsang Province, Uiseong County in North Gyeongsang Province, and Ulju County in Ulsan, where large wildfires have occurred.
According to the distribution industry on the 24th, BGF Retail, which operates the convenience store CU, activated the national disaster emergency relief activity 'BGF Bridge' in collaboration with the Ministry of the Interior and Safety and the National Disaster Relief Association.
Through this, relief supplies were delivered to evacuation centers for wildfire victims such as Uiseong Gymnasium and Sanencheong Welfare Center.
The relief supplies delivered this time consist of a total of over 5,000 items across 13 categories, including bottled water, ramen, pastries, chocolate bars, and wet wipes, which will be distributed to victims and firefighters.
Choi Min-geon, head of the ESG team at BGF Retail, said, "We decided to make this emergency support with the hope that it would be of some help to the victims affected by the suddenly occurring wildfire and the firefighters who are sweating for the relief effort."
GS Retail, which operates the convenience store GS25, also delivered over 5,000 relief supplies, including bottled water, pastries, cup noodles, and canned coffee, to Danseong Middle School in Sancheong County and Anpyeong Elementary School in Uiseong County.
CJ Foodville urgently supported a total of 10,000 items including T'terie bread and beverages on site. Additionally, a volunteer group composed of employees has decided to visit the site directly to assist with recovery efforts.
SPC Group delivered 4,000 loaves of bread and 2,000 bottles of water to the wildfire recovery work site in the areas of Sancheong in South Gyeongsang Province and Uiseong in North Gyeongsang Province upon receiving a support request from the Korean Red Cross.
The relief supplies will be used to support the victims staying in temporary shelters and the recovery personnel.
KYOCHON F&B, which operates KYOCHON Chicken, delivered chicken exchange vouchers and supporting funds worth a total of 100 million won to the Korean Red Cross to support recovery efforts in the wildfire-affected areas of Yeongnam.
