The specialty volcanic seawater from Jeju Island, 'Hallasu,' is expanding its distribution network by entering Emart24 and GS25 convenience stores. This entry is expected to significantly broaden consumers' choices for Jeju bottled water.
According to the distribution industry on the 24th, Hallasu's production and distribution company, Hando F&B, is actively implementing a strategy to increase customer touchpoints through the recent expansion of offline convenience store channels. Previously, the company expanded its distribution network to include major convenience store chains, following its entry into Coupang's 'Rocket Delivery' service at the end of last year, thereby enhancing accessibility for consumers nationwide.
Hallasu sources its water from volcanic seawater found in the eastern region of Jeju. Volcanic seawater is a clean water resource where various heavy metals and pollutants are removed by basalt's natural filtration from volcanic rock layers.
It is a softened water product with essential mineral content, including calcium and magnesium, at 40 mg/L, which particularly gained popularity among consumers from the 2030 MZ generation last year. As the health benefits of volcanic seawater spread by word of mouth, sales are also showing a steady increase.
A Hallasu representative noted, 'Through entry into convenience stores, consumers can now more easily access water of world-class purity.' They added, 'Especially, we will meet the needs of consumers who are oriented toward environmentally friendly consumption with our no-label products.'
