NAEOE Distillery located in Sancheong, Gyeongsangnam-do, received the grand award in the premium soju (distilled soju) category for products below 25% ABV at the 2025 Korea Wine & Spirits Awards for its NAEOE21.
NAEOE21 is NAEOE Distillery’s first product launched alongside NAEOE39. It is created by concentrating brewing techniques that have been passed down for 100 years, crafted using traditional fermentation methods. Distillation is performed using a whiskey-style single copper still to preserve the low-boiling aromatic components.
NAEOE Distillery noted that this liquor is made from rice and water without additives. On the palate, one can experience a refreshing fruit aroma produced during the rice fermentation process, along with a smooth finish from roasted grains.
NAEOE21 has gained popularity among young consumers who prioritize design, emphasizing an elegant appearance that does not feel like traditional liquor.
NAEOE Distillery, which produced this liquor, was established in August last year by CEO Choi Young-woong, a doctor of architectural engineering, and Director Kim Tae-geon, who inherited a century-old brewing business.
NAEOE Distillery plans to introduce products that harmoniously embody traditional and global cultures under the philosophy of ‘opposites harmonized.’ Through this, it is making efforts to communicate not only with domestic consumers but also with overseas customers.
CEO Choi Young-woong of NAEOE Distillery said, “We will create sustainable products that will be loved for a long time in the global market with products that harmonize our traditions and culture,” and “with this grand award, we will provide consumers with the best taste and quality, as well as new experiences.”
