Coupang announced on the 19th that it held a ground-breaking ceremony for the Jecheon Advanced Logistics Center at the Jecheon Third Industrial Complex in Wangam-dong, Jecheon, North Chungcheong Province.
Approximately 200 people attended the event, including Coupang CEO Park Dae-jun, National Assembly member Eom Tae-young (North Chungcheong Province, Jecheon City and Danyang County), Deputy Governor of North Chungcheong Province Lee Dong-ok, and Jecheon Mayor Kim Chang-kyu.

The Jecheon Advanced Logistics Center is expected to be equipped with state-of-the-art automation facilities based on artificial intelligence (AI) and will be built at a scale of about 16,000 pyeong (approximately 52,800 square meters) over two floors, at a cost of up to 100 billion won.
The facility aims to be completed in June 2026, with operations expected to begin in the first half of 2027, and it will serve as a logistics hub for expanding ‘rocket delivery’ in the Chungcheong and Gangwon regions.
The Jecheon Advanced Logistics Center is expected to directly employ up to 500 people, including those in their 30s, contributing to an increase in population in Jecheon City and revitalizing the local economy through large-scale job creation.
The ground-breaking of the Jecheon Advanced Logistics Center is part of Coupang's plan for a large-scale logistics investment announced in early 2024.
Coupang stated that it plans to establish additional logistics infrastructure in nine regions across the country with an investment of about 3 trillion won by 2026, making the entire country a ‘Coupang Zone’ capable of rocket delivery.
Last year, ground-breaking took place for logistics centers in Gimcheon, Gyeongsangbuk-do; Gangseo, Busan; and Icheon, Gyeonggi Province, while operations began for logistics centers in Cheonan, South Chungcheong Province; Nam Daejeon; and Gwangju Advanced Logistics Center. The Chilgok Subhub in Gyeongsangbuk-do started operations at the end of last year, and the Ulsan Subhub is expected to be completed within this year.
