On the 18th, comprehensive liquor company HiteJinro announced the launch of three products from the Swartland winery located in the Republic of South Africa.
Swartland winery started in the Swartland region in 1948. HiteJinro noted that in 1977, it became the first in the region to establish a bottling line instead of producing bulk wine, allowing it to produce, sell, and promote high-quality wines. It has now developed into a large winery with a vineyard area of 3,600 hectares.
The Swartland region produces concentrated wines in a very hot and dry climate. All three products being launched this time are made from 100% Chenin Blanc, a representative grape variety of the Republic of South Africa. This variety is characterized by fragrances of LEMON, green apple, European pear, and chamomile, along with appropriate acidity.
Swartland Bushvine Chenin Blanc is the representative wine of the winery. It features a rich tropical fruit aroma complemented by oak aging, resulting in a nutty and creamy flavor.
Swartland Private Collection Chenin Blanc is a wine that combines aromas of stone fruit like white peach with citrus notes such as grapefruit. HiteJinro noted that it pairs well with grilled fish or chicken dishes and is also good with fish cake or avocado salad.
Swartland Founders Chenin Blanc is a wine with a high satisfaction-to-price ratio that is easy for anyone to drink. It pairs well with appetizers served before meals. HiteJinro mentioned that it would be good to enjoy it with summer salads and sushi.
Yoo Tae-young, executive director of HiteJinro, said, "Last year, the scale of wine imports decreased due to the economic recession, but white wine continues to remain popular," adding that "particularly, Chenin Blanc from South Africa is considered one of the top 10 trends in the wine market in the UK."
The three Swartland products are expected to be sold at major wine shops, restaurants, and hotels nationwide.
