HiteJinro announced on the 17th that it conducted its first cleanup activity of the year at Jeju Dakmeoreu Coastal Area on the 14th.
About 20 employees from HiteJinro's Jeju branch and the Jeju Ara Comprehensive Social Welfare Center participated in the event. They gathered coastal waste, contributing to the preservation of the marine ecosystem.
Since 2020, HiteJinro has participated in the companion beach project, regularly carrying out coastal cleanup activities.
According to HiteJinro, Jeju Dakmeoreu Coastal Area is a region where cleanup activities are needed due to the increase in tourists. HiteJinro adopted this location as its second companion beach after Jeju Pyoseon Beach.
Last year, HiteJinro collected over 550 kg of marine debris from Dakmeoreu Coastal Area during four cleanup activities conducted in collaboration with local institutions and organizations.
In particular, in September, HiteJinro held both coastal and underwater cleanup activities to raise awareness of the importance of protecting the marine environment in celebration of its 100th anniversary.
HiteJinro's Jeju branch received a letter of appreciation from the Jeju Regional Coast Guard Chief last year for its contributions.
Kim In-kyu, CEO of HiteJinro, noted, 'Protecting the marine environment is an important task that corporations must continuously pay attention to and practice,' adding, 'We will contribute to creating clean seas through various eco-friendly activities in the future.'
