Drinks International announced on the 11th that its “Imperial Quantum Aged 19 Years” won the grand award at the 2025 Korea Wine & Spirits Awards.

The Korea Wine & Spirits Awards is the representative liquor competition in South Korea, now in its 12th year, held annually since 2014 with the goal of “discovering and widely promoting good domestic alcohol and supporting the formation of a healthy drinking culture.” A total of 1,008 brands participated in this year’s awards.

“Imperial Quantum Aged 19 Years” won the grand award in the “over 17-Year Scotch Blended Whiskey” institutional sector, gaining recognition as a representative whiskey of South Korea.

“Imperial” is a brand that pioneered the domestic premium whiskey market since its launch in 1994. It is known for being the first in the country to offer a 12-year aged Scotch whiskey, the first to introduce tamper-evident caps, and the first in the world to develop a triple tamper-evident cap.

Additionally, it has high consumer recognition due to its blending with raw liquor that matches Korean taste, a unique vanilla aroma, and a modern diamond angle-cut bottle that has won international design awards.

The Imperial Scotch whiskey line, made by blending raw liquor from Chivas Brothers in Scotland, is composed of 12-Year, 17-Year, 19-Year Quantum, and 21-Year variants. Among them, the 19-Year Quantum, which is 19-Year aged whiskey, derives its name from the term “quantum leap,” signifying innovation and dramatic progress.

Drinks International noted that it is characterized by a smooth mouthfeel and a sweet floral aroma.

A representative of Drinks International said, “It is particularly meaningful that the 19-Year Quantum, symbolizing innovation and leap, won the grand award, and I feel proud to win for taste and quality among competitive global Scotch whiskey brands.”
