Campari Korea announced on the 6th that the single malt Scotch whisky brand The Glen Grant has unveiled the first product of the 'Splendor Collection.'
The Splendor Collection features products made from the rarest distillate selected from the Glen Grant Distillery. The first product, Glen Grant 65 Years, is limited to 151 bottles worldwide. The decanter package, including the bottle, is designed in collaboration with John Galvin and Glass Storm to resemble a wooden ornament.
The Glen Grant will unveil this product at Art Basel in Hong Kong alongside a painting performance titled 'Seasons' by the art group Random International.
The Glen Grant noted that this whisky is "a rare whisky distilled in the traditional manner using a slender pot still heated by coal, aged perfectly for decades in a single French oak cask."
This whisky will be sold in a handcrafted decanter. The decanter is designed in the form of the continuously flowing loop of a 'Mobius strip,' honoring the eternity of nature.
According to Campari Korea, The Glen Grant 65 Years features an initial rich syrup-like aroma intertwined with well-ripened blackberry and subtle sandalwood notes. It then unfolds with a lively expression of sweet orange and well-ripened black cherry on the palate. Additionally, it harmonizes with rich fruitcake and sticky jujube flavors. The finish leaves a delicate citrus aroma accompanied by light spices, wood, and a gentle smoky scent.
Greg Stables, The Glen Grant master distiller, said, "The 65-year-old whisky is a product that embodies the unwavering whisky-making method and a vision for innovation," adding, "I am pleased to introduce a whisky that captures the taste and characteristics of a time close to one person's lifetime."
Campari Korea plans to sell this whisky through limited channels starting at the end of this month.
