On the 4th, Genesis BBQ Group announced that it has donated a cumulative 2,000 chickens to the local community through its "Chicken University Good Donation" this year.
BBQ has continuously delivered 1,000 chickens each in January and February to neighbors in need in the local community. This amounts to about 46 million won.
In particular, BBQ has been making efforts to assist children and elderly individuals struggling to maintain stable livelihoods since this year. Last month, it continued its cooperative efforts with the Yongin Group Home Association, the Korean Red Cross, and local welfare centers.
BBQ's representative social contribution activity, "Chicken University Good Donation," is conducted by having franchisee training facility Chicken University, located in Icheon, Gyeonggi Province, provide training to family (franchise owners) and employees before store openings, and donate the prepared chicken to nearby welfare facilities.
The "Chicken University Good Donation," which has been ongoing for 26 years until this year, is part of its ESG (environmental, social, and governance) management activities that combine the food franchise training system with social contributions.
A BBQ official noted, "We have been continuing the Good Donation program for 26 years as part of BBQ's active spread of positive influence aimed at building a community of coexistence, and we will strive to share the love we have received from our customers with places in need through various ESG activities in the future."
