Hyundai Department Store Group subsidiary healthcare company Hyundai Bioland announced on the 3rd that it will launch the electrolyte drink 'Nuun' from Nestlé Health Science in Korea.
'Nuun' is the top-selling effervescent electrolyte beverage brand in the U.S. multi-sport retail market. The product can be easily consumed by dissolving it in water and is designed to quickly replenish hydration and electrolytes at a concentration similar to that of body fluids.
Hyundai Bioland operates a total of seven product lines recommended based on the intensity of physical activities such as daily life, light exercise, and intense workouts, and it will introduce a sports line recommended for use during activities involving significant fluid loss. The sports line will feature five flavors: strawberry-lemonade, lemon-lime, tropical, triberry, and grape.
Hyundai Bioland noted, "As the 'healthy pleasure' trend spreads, the market for related beverages such as electrolyte drinks and energy gels is also expanding," adding, "We decided to launch the 'Nuun' brand to strengthen our market attack in line with changing customer trends."
Hyundai Department Store Group signed a memorandum of understanding with Swiss food conglomerate Nestlé Group in 2023 to expand its healthcare business. It currently operates premium vitamin brand 'Solgar' and collagen specialty brand 'Vital Proteins.' In the future, the group plans to open specialty stores that consolidate Nestlé Health Science's health food brands and distribute over 10 health food brands in Korea.
