Emart announced on the 27th that it will exclusively sell the blended Scotch whisky 'Black and White' (700㎖) at a super low price of 9,900 won.
The product will be sold at 9,900 won regularly at Emart, while Emart Everyday and Emart 24 will offer it at promotional prices throughout March. Previously, it was sold in the high 10,000 won range at other retailers, but Emart is introducing it at 9,900 won through consolidated purchasing.
'Black and White' is a whisky launched in Scotland in 1884. Being a blended whisky made from various single malts and grain whiskies like the world-renowned 'Johnnie Walker,' 'Dalwhinnie,' and 'Clutha,' it offers a diverse range of aromas. It is often used for highball cocktails in Korea.
Baek Min, Emart's whisky buyer, noted, "As high inflation continues, the whisky market is also polarizing into super low and super high prices," adding, "We are focusing on operating new whisky products that ensure quality while keeping prices as low as possible, in line with Emart's regular super low-price strategy."
Last month, Emart launched 'G7 Can Wine' (350㎖) at around 3,000 won. They reduced the capacity of basic bottled wine products by half and cut the price in half as well. Since its release on the 16th of last month, G7 Can Wine has recorded sales of about 100 million won in just one month.
