Shinsegae is proceeding with refunds for 13 types of goose down (duck feather) jumpers sold by the company. The products were initially planned as goose down jumpers, but it was revealed in a recent internal quality inspection that the supplier provided them using duck down filling.

Shinsegae noted on the 24th that it is voluntarily refunding 13 types of down jumpers sold by the women's clothing brands Bob and G-Cut, accompanied by an apology letter from the CEO posted on its website.

The subjects are nine products from Bob and four from G-Cut produced in the winter of 2024.

This measure was decided to fulfill responsibilities to customers and to restore customer trust by improving the quality management system.

Shinsegae conducted an internal quality inspection of all partner companies supplying down products and confirmed that duck down was used in the filling of 13 goose down products supplied by one partner company, Company A.

The investigation revealed that Company A fraudulently submitted test results for the down to Shinsegae and used an unverified filling company.

Shinsegae has suspended the sale of the products immediately upon confirming the quality issue and is recalling the products in circulation. The company also plans to stop transactions with the partner company and take legal action.

William Kim, CEO of Shinsegae, said, 'To prevent recurrence and restore trust, we will significantly enhance step-by-step quality verification throughout the entire product manufacturing process and overhaul the management system for our partner companies, fundamentally improving our quality management system.' He added, 'I sincerely apologize once again to the customers who experienced inconvenience due to this incident and to the customers who love Bob and G-Cut.'

Information about the problematic Bob and G-Cut products can be found on the Shinsegae website.
