Pulmuone has begun to nurture its subsidiaries, Pulmuone Juice and Pulmuone Health Living, under the leadership of newly appointed CEO Lee Woo-bong.
On the 24th, Pulmuone implemented some organizational restructuring at the beginning of the year and appointed CEO Kim Jin-hong, who led Pulmuone Foods, as the CEO of Pulmuone Juice and Pulmuone Health Living. To create synergy between Pulmuone Juice and Pulmuone Health Living, Pulmuone established the "Health Care Innovation MBU" through this restructuring and appointed Kim as its head.
Before being appointed as the CEO of Pulmuone Foods in 2021, Kim had served as the CEO of LG Kellogg Korea, the head of LG Electronics' French subsidiary, and the head of LG Electronics' Global Marketing Center. Since joining Pulmuone Foods, Kim has expanded the fresh noodle and meal kit businesses and has actively pursued global market entry.
As a result, last year, Pulmuone Foods recorded an operating profit of 51.9 billion won, a 37.3% increase from the previous year (3.8 billion won). During the same period, revenue increased by 4.5% to 2.4336 trillion won.
The background behind moving Kim to Pulmuone Juice and Pulmuone Health Living is known to be based on CEO Lee's judgment to rebound the two companies, which have recently shown poor performance.
According to the Financial Supervisory Service, Pulmuone Health Foods recorded an operating loss of 1.8 billion won in 2023. This represented an increase of more than 11 times compared to the operating loss of 150 million won recorded in 2022. Pulmuone Juice, which had an operating profit of 260 million won in 2022, switched to an operating loss of 120 million won in 2023.
