Coupang announced on the 23rd that its private brand subsidiary CPLB invited over 30 small and medium-sized partner companies to hold the 'Coupang CPLB 2025 Win-Win Awards' event to share achievements and visions for mutual growth.
The event, held on the 21st at the Grand Hyatt Seoul Hotel, was attended by representatives from small and medium-sized partner companies across the country, including the metropolitan area, Gyeongsang Province, Gangwon Province, Chungcheong Province, Jeolla Province, and Jeju.
Coupang introduced real cases from outstanding partner companies, including a Ginseng farm in Chungcheongnam-do that achieved a 490% increase in monthly sales by producing 'Gomgom Ginseng', a seafood manufacturer in Busan that expanded its business by supplying 'Gomgom Mackerel', and a manufacturer of 'Gomgom Rice' that created premium quality rice with farmers from Chungbuk, as well as a production corporation of 'Gomgom Vegetables' that produces and supplies herb vegetables from farms in Gyeonggi and Gangwon.
Starting with this first event of the year, Coupang plans to regularly select outstanding partner companies.
Park Dae-jun, CEO of Coupang, said in his speech at the event, 'We will expand nationwide distribution channels and continuously support the PB partners so they can operate their businesses more stably.'
Jeon Kyung-soo, CEO of CPLB, stated in his welcoming speech, 'We will become a strong partner that creates more communication opportunities with small and medium-sized partners and continuously develops win-win models.'
CPLB was established in 2020. It supports various aspects such as distribution and channel expansion, and quality management, so that manufacturers can focus their efforts on developing and producing excellent products. According to Coupang, 90% of CPLB's partner companies are small manufacturers, and among them, 80% produce products outside of Seoul as of 2023.
