Emart's warehouse discount store Traders announced that the Magok branch, which opened on the 14th, has set a new daily sales record for two consecutive days.
According to Emart on the 16th, Traders at the Magok branch generated sales of 2 billion won on the first day, the 14th. The following day, sales amounted to 2.4 billion won, setting a record for daily sales at Traders. This is believed to be due to high customer demand for value-for-money products amid rising prices.
On the first day, the register recorded 13,000 customers, and considering that mainly families of 2 to 3 members visited, Traders estimated that over 25,000 individuals actually visited. The estimated number of visitors over the first two days reached 50,000.
On the first day, 4 tons of strawberries, 10 tons of imported meat such as wagyu and lamb chops, 1,000 plates of large-sized sushi for 3 to 4 people, and 500 kg of salmon sashimi were sold.
Whiskey was also sold out early. The independently launched 'Kim Chang-soo Whiskey Single Cask 51.8', along with Hibiki and Macallan Sherry 12 Year, were all sold within 30 minutes of the store opening.
The experiential space 'Gundam Roadshow,' which sold about 80 types of Bandai Namco products, saw a phenomenon of 'open runs,' with customers lining up before store hours, and over 1,200 customers also visited the 'Capsule Toy Machine Roadshow.'
An Emart official noted, 'The strategy targeting large business districts has proven effective,' adding that 'there has been strong customer demand for value-for-money products due to rising prices.'
