Seventh Eleven announced on the 16th that it will showcase the ready-to-eat refrigerated meal 'Park Eun-young's spicy mala mapo tofu rice bowl' featuring Chef Park Eun-young, known as the 'Goddess of Chinese Cuisine.'
The spicy mala mapo tofu rice bowl incorporates the unique recipes and sauces of Chef Park Eun-young, who works as a sous chef at the Sichuan cuisine specialty restaurant 'Grand Majestic Sichuan' in Hong Kong.
Seventh Eleven explained that by adding the spicy and pungent flavor of mala to doubanjiang, tofu, and minced meat, consumers can enjoy a soft, savory texture with bites of meat.
Seventh Eleven has been collaborating with popular chefs since last year. The seven collaboration products with Chefs Jeong Ji-sun and Ahn Yu-seong, unveiled last month, sold over 500,000 units in just one month.
Park Jin-hee, the product planning manager (MD) for the convenience food team at Seventh Eleven, noted, "There is a trend to reduce expenditure on dining out due to high prices, so collaborative products that allow customers to enjoy star chef dishes at a reasonable price are receiving particularly positive responses."
