Lotte Hotels & Resorts announced on the 13th that it hosted a dinner event at the Lotte Hotel World Crystal Ballroom to honor and encourage the efforts of the national team participating in the 47th WorldSkills Competition in Lyon, France.
Attending the event were Minister Kim Moon-soo of the Ministry of Employment and Labor, Lee Woo-young, Chairman of the Human Resources Development Service of Korea, Jeong Ho-seok, CEO of Lotte Hotels & Resorts, and Chef Lee Ji-yoo from Signiel Seoul "STAY," along with 57 national team athletes.
Chef Lee won a silver medal in the cooking category at the 47th WorldSkills Competition held in Lyon, France, last September.
The WorldSkills Competition is an event where skilled workers under the age of 22 from various countries showcase their abilities, held every two years. In this competition, athletes from 73 countries participated in 62 vocational categories, with South Korea represented by 57 national team members across 49 vocational categories.
Following Chef Park Dong-hyun, who won an award at the 46th Swiss Lucerne WorldSkills Competition in 2022, Chef Lee Ji-yoo is the second consecutive chef to emerge from Signiel Seoul.
Jeong Ho-seok, CEO of Lotte Hotels & Resorts, noted, "I am pleased that WorldSkills medalists continue to emerge, and Lotte Hotel's skilled culinary expertise has been recognized globally. We will continue to support promising youth so they can showcase their skills."
