Shinsegae Property announced on the 23rd that Starfield Suwon achieved a cumulative 19 million visitors just one year after its opening. This figure surpasses the entire population of Gyeonggi Province (approximately 13.69 million), meaning that one in three people in South Korea (with a registered population of approximately 51.32 million) visited Starfield Suwon.
According to Shinsegae Property, 57% of customers who visited Starfield Suwon over the year were in their 20s and 30s. The strong interest from the younger generation, including the MZ generation (those born from the early 1980s to the early 2000s), appears to stem from the differentiated content introduced to attract them.
Notably, it gained attention as a recreational space that provides enjoyment in everyday life by showcasing cultural spaces like the 'Starry Night Library,' the first of its kind outside Seoul, popular fashion and lifestyle brands catering to the MZ generation, a pet park for pets and their owners, and a food edit shop 'Bites Place,' which combines shopping, experiences, and culture.
To celebrate the first anniversary of Starfield Suwon's opening, Shinsegae Property plans to showcase various attractions and activities. Until the 2nd of next month, it will hold the 'LEGO FAN ART FAIR with Starfield' in the Tower Atrium on the first floor of Starfield Suwon, featuring over 290 pieces of artwork by 33 LEGO artists, which can be viewed for free. The first 200 attendees will have the opportunity to create their own LEGO lucky bags and can also participate in stacking LEGO bricks in a 'Brick Pool' filled with LEGO pieces.
The Starry Night Library will also host live performances. On the 29th, the Yu Sa-rang Jazz Band will present a fusion traditional Korean music performance, and on the 30th, three members (Jo Jin-ho, Lim Kyu-hyung, Lee Seung-min) of the crossover group CREZL, composed of traditional Korean music, vocal, musical theater singers, and idols, will perform.
A pop-up store by Mercedes-Benz will also open. This pop-up event, which will operate from the 25th to the 2nd of next month, will feature the new 'G 450d' G-Class, known as the G-Wagen, and the first purely electric G-Class model, 'G 580 with EQ Technology.'
