The chicken franchise Genesis BBQ Group announced on the 22nd that it has fully remodeled the Chicken University to mark its 30th anniversary.
Genesis BBQ Group established the franchise-focused educational facility Chicken University in Gwangju, Gyeonggi Province, in 2000. In 2003, it transferred Chicken University to Icheon, Gyeonggi Province. BBQ noted that the systematic educational system of Chicken University has produced numerous families (franchise owners) both domestically and internationally.
In line with the changing environment, BBQ conducted a large-scale remodeling across all indoor and outdoor areas over a four-month period starting from September to provide franchise owners with a better educational infrastructure.
In particular, improvements were made to the training kitchens and POS (Point-of-Sale) training rooms, automation robot labs, auditoriums, and accommodations to create an efficient and comfortable environment.
In the training kitchens, where franchise owners spend the most time before opening their stores or while operating, updates were made to equipment such as fryers, kitchen ventilation facilities were expanded, heating and cooling systems were improved, and plumbing maintenance was conducted.
The auditorium, where family theory training and internal and external events are held, has been expanded to accommodate up to 500 people, with a large media wall installed and broadcasting and sound systems improved, thus designed as a multipurpose convention hall.
The historical hall, which contains the story of Genesis BBQ Group, has been expanded to a total of two halls. Hall 1 is themed around the group's 30-year history and future, while Hall 2 focuses on the story of the group's brands, ESG activities, and past advertisements.
The remodeling has also brought significant changes to the exterior of Chicken University. The front section has been expressed in a rising curved shape, reminiscent of chicken wings. The cylindrical design on the left side incorporates symbolic meaning of a torch.
A BBQ official said, 'This remodeling, conducted in this meaningful year marking the 30th anniversary, will not only improve facilities but also ensure that Chicken University becomes a core facility for realizing the global vision of Genesis BBQ Group both domestically and internationally.'
