Shinsegae Department Store announced on the 14th that the number of visitors to Shinsegae Square has approached 1 million just two months after its opening. Shinsegae Square is part of Myeongdong Square, a free advertising area that colors the area from Myeongdong to Euljiro with video media.

According to Shinsegae, the total number of visitors to Shinsegae Square was recorded at over 992,000 during the two months of November and December last year. This figure was achieved approximately 20 days earlier than the previous year, with an average of over 14,000 domestic and international visitors observing Shinsegae Square each day.

Shinsegae Square is a space displayed after Shinsegae Department Store renovated the media facade of its main building last November. It includes a super-large digital signage installation of 1,292 square meters, equivalent to the size of three basketball courts, set up for public spaces or commercial areas. Through this screen, Shinsegae transmitted the digital single by BTS's V and Park Hyo-shin, as well as the music video for the new song by the six-member idol group Boynextdoor.

In particular, around 150,000 people are estimated to have visited Shinsegae Square over the two days of Christmas Eve and Christmas Day last month. The sales revenue from foreign customers at the main Shinsegae Department Store during November and December last year increased by 20.6% compared to the same period the previous year.

Lee Seong-hwan, executive director in charge of sales strategy at Shinsegae Department Store, noted, "As we lead with diverse content and immersion experienced at an overwhelming scale, Shinsegae Square is attracting many domestic and international visitors as a content hotspot," adding, "We will take the lead in globalizing Myeongdong with a variety of radiant K-culture and cultural arts."
