Adidas Korea has signed an official sponsorship agreement with the prestigious professional baseball team Doosan Bears.
On the 13th, Adidas Korea and Doosan Bears held an official sponsorship ceremony at the Adidas Korea headquarters in Seoul, attended by Peter Kwak, CEO of Adidas Korea, Deputy Minister Brian Cups, President Koh Young-seob of Doosan Bears, and Director General Kim Tae-ryong.
Doosan Bears had Fila Korea as its sponsor for clothing, shoes, and sports gear for 30 years, from 1995 until last year.
With this partnership, Adidas, a global leading sports corporation, has joined the journey of Doosan Bears, the 'first franchise team' of the KBO League.
The key concept of the newly introduced Doosan Bears uniform is 'performance enhancement.' Adidas Korea focused on lightweight fabric and emblem marking. The new uniform is designed with functional material and utilizes sublimation marking technology to enhance players' performance. Additionally, the iconic 'three stripes' of Adidas will be applied to the sides of the uniform.
Peter Kwak, CEO of Adidas Korea, said, 'I am pleased to have formed a partnership with Doosan Bears, which boasts a long history and has delivered great emotion to fans since winning the first championship of Korean professional baseball, and this agreement between Adidas and Doosan Bears will confirm our shared vision and values of creating positive change through sports and serve as a stepping stone to greater influence.'
He also added, 'Adidas will spare no effort in providing full support for players to perform at their best and will strive to share the passion and energy of more baseball fans and sports.'
Through this official sponsorship agreement, Doosan Bears announced a new brand identity (BI) for the first time in 15 years since 2010. The new BI feature of Doosan Bears is 'fan first,' and the emblem represents 'One Team Bears,' uniting the team with its home city of Seoul and the 'strongest No. 10 hitter' over the sticky team play on the infield diamond.
