Homeplus announced on the 13th that sales of so-called "one bite meals" such as sweet and spicy chicken and sushi increased by more than 80%.

According to Homeplus, as of December of last year, sales of chicken gangjeong and shrimp gangjeong in the deli (ready-to-eat) section increased by 81% compared to the same period the previous year. During the same period, gimbap and fried tofu sushi increased by up to 82%, while sushi rose by up to 36%. Sales of convenience foods like sandwiches and salads also increased by up to 18% and 57%, respectively, compared to the previous year.

Notably, the increase in one bite meal sales was particularly pronounced in areas near offices. At the Homeplus Express store near Hakdong Station in Gangnam's representative office district, deli online and offline sales rose by approximately 138% last year, while deli immediate delivery sales skyrocketed by 1005%. At the Gwanghwamun store in Seoul, deli immediate delivery sales also increased by 783% last year.

Han Ah-reum, head of the deli business team at Homeplus, noted, "The strategy of reinforcing the 'one bite meal' deli menu proved effective in driving sales growth," adding, "We are focusing on product development to introduce various deli items in the future."
