Shinsegae Department Store announced on the 8th that it will showcase high-end premium gift sets for the Lunar New Year. A representative example includes luxury alcoholic beverages famous worldwide and the ‘5 Star’ food gift sets that have passed Shinsegae Department Store's stringent standards.
The global whiskey brand Macallan will sell 'Tales of the Macallan Volume 1,' released to celebrate its 200th anniversary after officially obtaining a distillation license in 1824. This product has been exclusively imported into the country through the Macallan mono shop located in the House of Shinsegae wine cellar at the Gangnam branch of Shinsegae Department Store. It features a 71-year-old whiskey packaged in a bottle crafted by the crystal house Lalique (700 mL).
Luxury wines are also available. Representative selections include the masterpiece 'Pétrus 1999 Magnum' from the right bank of Bordeaux in the eastern part of the Gironde River in France and 'Léoville Poyferré 2005.' The highest-quality rare champagne, 'Dom Pérignon P3,' aged for over 20 years, will also be sold exclusively from MH Champagnes & Korea, the official importer of Dom Pérignon in Korea.
Traditional Korean liquor will also be showcased. The 'Master Collection,' which contains Namhansanseong soju brewed by Master Kang Hwan-gu, recognized as Intangible Cultural Heritage No. 13 of Gyeonggi Province, will be sold exclusively. These craft items are made by artisans in each field.
Shinsegae Department Store has also prepared the '5 Star' premium holiday gift brand, which consists of rare food sourced from our land. The 5 Star premium Hanwoo set selects only the top 3% of the highest-grade beef from 1++ Hanwoo, ensuring maximum flavor and taste through strict management according to a high-quality meat production program. The flagship product consists solely of the finest cuts from 1++ Hanwoo, which has the highest marbling score rated at 9 (No. 9), and the 5 Star Hanwoo Special, which selects only the highest-level cuts produced in small quantities from the top 1% premium beef.
A 5 Star fruit set will be presented, consisting of top-quality fruits selected for sweetness, size, color, and shape from excellent farms discovered by Shinsegae buyers. The 5 Star seafood selection includes a gift set made of oversized hairtail measuring over 1m or gulbi that has grown for more than three years, both of which are in the top 5% of auction volume at the seafood market, worked only at 100% HACCP-certified processing facilities and have undergone more than three inspections.
