SPC Group announced on the 3rd that it will reorganize its global business structure to strengthen overseas operations.
According to SPC Group on that day, the group will establish and operate the AMEA division (Asia-Pacific, Middle East, and Africa headquarters) within the global organization of Paris Baguette. The AMEA division will oversee not only the Southeast Asia region, where it is currently operating, but also regions in the Middle East, Africa, and Oceania, where it intends to expand.
Hana Lee, who oversaw Southeast Asia, has become the CEO of the AMEA division. The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) position will be held by Taehwan Moon.
SPC Group conducted this personnel change ahead of the completion of its bakery factory in Johor Bahru, Malaysia, which is set to commence operations early this year. This factory is being built in accordance with halal certification standards, making it possible to supply products not only to Southeast Asian countries but also to Islamic nations in the Middle East and Africa. It is interpreted as a strategic move to target the $2 trillion global halal food market by deploying experienced managers in the local markets.
Prior to this, SPC Group restructured its organization last year by implementing personnel changes in the America Division of Paris Baguette. Since Darren Tipton has been the CEO since 2021, he appointed Nick Scaccio as Chief Operating Officer (COO), Cathy Chavenet as Chief Marketing Officer (CMO), Eric Galkin as Chief Supply Chain Officer (CSCO), Saeyong Park as CFO, and Michelle Jagroop as Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO).
SPC Group is also pushing for the establishment of a local production facility in Burleson City, Texas, in the United States, while planning to expand operations from the America Division into the Central and South American regions in the future.
Additionally, SPC Group will operate a 'global support office' domestically to strengthen communication between its headquarters and overseas subsidiaries and to support a swift decision-making framework. Ilwon Seo will serve as the head of the global support office.
A representative from SPC Group noted, “This reorganization was conducted to localize global operations by expanding the responsibilities and authorities of regional headquarters overseas and to enable the domestic headquarters to support overseas subsidiaries more effectively.”
Paris Baguette is currently operating in 14 countries including the United States, Canada, France, the United Kingdom, China, Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, and Vietnam, with over 630 stores. The goal is to operate a total of 12,000 stores by 2030.
