Woowa Brothers, the operator of Baedal MinjOK (hereafter referred to as Baemin), announced on the 2nd that it has newly appointed CEO Bum Seok Austin Kim.
During the board meeting that day, Woowa Brothers noted, "CEO Kim has experience in settling platform businesses such as Uber and Glovo in new markets, engaging actively with market participants and driving rapid growth," and stated the reasons for his appointment, saying, "Based on his overseas experience and expertise in on-demand platforms, we determined he can lead new growth and sustainability."
CEO Kim majored in international relations and economics at George Washington University in the United States. He has been involved in establishing and managing several startups and platform corporations, including the establishment of Uber's Turkish branch and food delivery apps Glovo and Trendiol.
CEO Kim said, "I will prioritize improving customer experience to continuously enhance Baemin's services and challenge new growth businesses," adding, "It is Baemin’s role to foster the common interest of consumer convenience and the growth of platform partners."
Starting today, CEO Kim will take on the role of CEO of Woowa Brothers, following Pieter-Jan Vandepitte, the interim CEO and Chief Operating Officer of Delivery Hero. Woowa Brothers is a member of the Delivery Hero Group, which has a network spanning over 70 countries.
