Jung Ji-sun, chairman of Hyundai Department Store Group, said in his 2025 New Year's address, "Just as growth starts with practice, expands through various collaborations, and is completed through mutual empathy, let us bravely face the waves of change together, believing in and helping one another."
In his New Year's message for 2025, on Jan. 1, Jung noted, "To sustain our group's growth, it is important to actively implement new attempts that respond to changes in customers, markets, and the business ecosystem while continuously creating drivers of growth."
Jung said, "We must break away from conventional ways of working and find and apply better methods to respond to change, creating new opportunities. While new attempts come with the effort of abandoning familiarity and may instill a fear of failure, enduring the process of these growing pains is essential to achieving successful outcomes."
He emphasized, "We have led the market by providing differentiated value through strategic changes in our existing businesses in response to market changes, creating various success stories, both large and small. Let us maintain our confidence and continuously develop the competitive edge of our existing businesses."
Jung urged to promote new businesses more swiftly to seize future growth opportunities. He stated, "Each company's CEO and executives must recognize that preparing for future growth is our greatest responsibility and should actively lead new business initiatives based on diverse opinions and quick judgments. Only with proactive leadership from management can the speed of strategic implementation increase, allowing us to face the previously distant vision goals in reality."
He further asserted, "It is important for employees to prioritize customer-centric thinking and stakeholder trust while actively practicing new initiatives through seamless collaboration with various external partners in response to market changes. Let us create an innovative organizational culture where members trust the company and can immerse themselves in their work, aligning personal and company growth."
