Homeplus announced on the 27th that it will accept applications for voluntary retirement from employees stationed in the Busan, Ulsan, and Gyeongnam regions.
The target for applications is employees with over 10 years of service. In addition to the statutory severance pay, a consolation payment of up to 18 to 20 months of the average monthly salary will be provided to those who opt for voluntary retirement.
A representative from Homeplus noted, "This voluntary retirement application is a measure taken due to a decline in sales at stores in the region, leading to an imbalance in manpower supply and demand." They also mentioned, "No specific target has been set, and if there are no applicants, we do not plan to accept additional applications."
Homeplus stated that this voluntary retirement is aimed at addressing the imbalance in manpower supply and demand in specific regions and that additional voluntary retirements are not being considered.
